I’ve had my cat, Snuggles for almost 16 years. She’s been healthy her whole life up until two weeks ago when she stopped eating/drinking. In the last two weeks she’s lost almost half her body weight, has diarrhea, and no energy. She sleeps all day and will only eat if you place her right in front of her food, and even then she will only eat a few small pieces before she gives up and goes to the closet to hide. She’s very irritable and not like her happy cuddly self at all anymore.
I took her to an emergency vet on Easter and they told me she was severely dehydrated and needed to be kept overnight and given IV fluids. Since then they’ve done blood work, x-rays, and she’s currently under anesthesia while they use a scope to get samples for biopsies. Later tonight they’re going to start her on medication for inflammatory diseases and cancer until they can find out what’s wrong. If she reacts negatively to the scope they will have to perform an ultrasound on her Tuesday. Snuggles is going to have to stay hospitalized until Thursday to be given more fluids and stay monitored.
Snuggles has been the one constant in my life and means more to me than anything. She’s my baby and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her. The vet said that if what’s wrong with her is a manageable disease/illness that she can live another 4 years. I was approved for $2000 with Care Credit, but that’s only going to cover what they’re doing these next couple of days, nothing to actually treat her. And still, that’s $2000 I have to figure out how to pay back.
I understand that times are tough, but really anything will help at this point and I would appreciate it so greatly. Here is the link to my Go Fund Me page set up for Snuggles’ bills Click Here To Help Save Snuggles
